I had to finally break down and taste the blog life.. I'm an artist of a few different flavors. I've been writing since I was young; stories first, poetry next. I liked colors, and construction, cooking and reading. I use to have great handwriting. Now I prefer a keyboard for most writing endeavors.
I created a bit of an arts career when moving to Kansas City on 1.7.2009. It started with poetry. It wasn't long before had I bought a new camera. I'd been dabbling in photography since my 6th grade birthday. That's when I used some money I got at a birthday party at the "old Royal Inn" to go next door to Dollar General and buy a disposable camera. I used it to take pictures of my friends.
I really wanted to be a photo-journalist, I would say by age 17. I got in too deep with my high school ex and had my son. Long story short [for now], I joined the military. Ideas of me riding a bike through New York City with a backpack, a wondering mind, and a writing spirit turned into a flight to Chicago and a uniform.
Every loss in life has been opportunity for an upgrade, is what I see for myself at 31 years old (born 12.2.1985, at night). My hobby camera I used while active duty Navy in Jacksonville, Florida was stolen from my truck as I opted for sober travel on New Year's eve of 2008. The camera I bought upon my arrival in Kansas City opened doors I hadn't imagined.. some pretty cool doors, and some shitty ones.
I curse when I speak, but I'll curse less when I write.
I'll use paragraphs to organize my thoughts as I write, so hopefully you'll follow my mind better. I fight to follow it myself sometimes, so let me know where I lost you if it ever happens.
I want this blog to show my fans, family, and friends what's happening behind those doors. Warning: some of these doors I speak of are internal ones. As I travel, move around my residing city, Kansas City, and visit home, I cross many door ways. Physical doors are interesting, be their contents good or bad. The internal ones are a doozy too..
Some things in life may have you wanting to spike your tea. Have a sip or a smoke if you need to, but be moderate. Always look to maintain your balance.
Yes, I said doozy in that other paragraph. I heard that word a lot growing up. I guess where we've been will often come with us..
I look forward to sharing more.
